ARTS ENRICHMENT
Jihan A. Thomas (she/her) is a Black woman, visual artist, artivist, mother, community and museum arts educator located in Philadelphia. She uses her art to serve and amplify the voices and concerns in her community. She is passionate about sharing the power of art/s and how it can encourage healing, expression and transformation.
Jihan has over 17 years experience as an arts educator where she brings her creativity to many spaces such as libraries, shelters, art centers and traditional K-12 classrooms throughout Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey. She works with with many local arts and cultural institutions in Philadelphia such as The Frator Heru Institute, The African American Museum in Philadelphia, The Clay Studio of Philadelphia, Fleisher Art Memorial, The Colored Girls Museum, The Free Library of Philadelphia and The Barnes Foundation. Investing in her community, Jihan is dedicated to upholding a long tradition and legacy of Black artists and creatives that used the art/s and the sacredness of community to heal and empower our Black and Brown neighborhoods. Our arts enrichment programs and events strives to give a wide range of accessible and rigorous arts and cultural experiences that center in Pro Black and BIPOC+ visual arts techniques and practices. |
